President's Message

Dear colleagues,

As Ex-President ASAMI International (2008 - 2010), Ex-President ASAMI Brazilian founderI. I would like as President of the 2nd World Congress on External Fixation International Reconstruction andBone Lengthening, welcome everyone to Salvador city, Bahia, Brazil's former capital, with more than 500 years history.

We will organize a Scientific Conference at the highest level, we will discuss the most important issues of our specialty, both in Orthopedics and Traumatology. Since that time we have a high level acception for members from Brazil and from all continents.

We should have the participation of more than 50 countries, where consolidate with Nuno Craveiro Lopes, our current President and hundreds of important colleagues, our new company, our new society, with its statutes and regulations. Let´s together make a strong and active Society. I would like to thank all the support I have received from Brazilian ASAMI on behalf of its President, Dr. Rubens Fichelli Jr. and Board, and many colleagues around the world. Come with your family to Brazil, a country full of peace and beautiful nature, that is in great economic development. Social, where everyone can enjoy social activities at Iberostar Praia do Forte Resort, Bahia.

Message from the President of the 11th Brazilian Congress of ASAMI

Dear Colleagues,

The northern coast of Bahia, that is very close to Salvador, is waiting with open arms to welcome our professionals society 2nd World Congress on External Fixation and Bone Reconstruction and 11th Brazilian ASAMI Congress Committee, that will be held from the 6th to 8th September 2012.

There will be mutual sharing of scientific knowledge and technical updates from among physicians in their specialty, from Brazil and all over the world.

We chose Fort Beach and Iberostar Resort because of a combination of best features of accommodation and leisure and beautiful beaches and scenery in a wonderful natural setting.

In addition to enjoying all the beauty and beaches that the north coast of Bahia offers us, we will present a scientific program and full range of news, so that physicians can participate in our specialty and update their knowledge base.

Message ICEF & BR

Dear colleagues and friends,

Time flies, and it is hard to believe we are already almost half way since the first ICEF&BR meeting that took place in Barcelona in 2010 and Bahia meeting on September 6th-8th,2012, I have visited Bahia many times and I have enjoyed it .

I am really looking forward to being there again and now, as Constitutive Committee of the International Confederation of External Fixation and Bone Reconstruction President, collaborate with the reunion of ASAMI International group and World Congress on External Fixation group in one organization that will include all colleagues interested in External FixationThematic IlizarovReconstruction procedures and other techniques related to Reconstruction by distraction osteogenesis.

For sure you can´t miss this Congress at all. You will have opportunity to take part in the constitution of this Great Organization and be registered as a founding member, as well as attend to an amazing wealth of scientific knowledge, opportunity for scientific exchange and a remarkable cultural program that will allow you to know this wonderful country and its people.

And I know it will be a first-class event from an organizational point of view. Message from the President of the ASAMI

It is with joy and satisfaction that we will have 2nd International Congress on External Fixation and Bone Reconstruction.

We are sure that this will be an ideal forum to exchange experiences and knowledges, through discussions about the new techniques and approaches on External Fixation and Ilizarov Methodology, so we wil have experts talking about the science advance and the art of External Fixation and Bone Reconstruction.

We will have excellent lecturers talking about the advances in the science and the art of the external Fixation and Osteo-Articulate Reconstruction.

Today with the advance of the technology, we develop more steady, versatile, light fixing and with multiaxial devices. These new materials associates the adequate courses of formation that allow more colleagues in the world all use the Ilizarov methodology with more efficient results.

We will also go to approach and to deepen complex and innovative subjects as the new forms of bone stimulaton bone regeneration, through the materials of bioengineering and molecular biology.

For these quarrels we will adopt in the Congress the format of: free subjects, posters, round table, instructionals courses, skillful conferences and parallel symposiums.

In Brazil there are more than 10,000 orthopedists and many of them will be here in the Congress.

ASAMI Brazil in partnership with the SBOT Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology and also friend Dr. Jose Carlos Bongiovanni, will do their best to become this event a great success.

We are in Brazil and we know that beyond the fruitful scientific quarrels, it also has the proper place of the event and the social programs organized especially for you and your family.
